Modern black metal fence along the front of a Valdosta home

Aluminum, iron, and steel

Metal Fence Installation in Valdosta, GA

Metal fencing covers three different jobs: aluminum for a clean residential or pool line, ornamental iron for a heavier street look, and steel or welded systems for security. This page is the home for those materials so they do not compete as separate thin pages.

  • Black aluminum pool fence with a self-closing gate around a backyard pool in Valdosta
  • Commercial metal fencing around a work yard

Aluminum fence installation

Aluminum is the usual pool and front-yard metal. It does not rust the way raw steel does, it stays open for visibility, and it can meet a pool-barrier layout when the picket spacing and gate hardware are right.

It is not a crash barrier. It is a line you can see through. Colors are typically black, bronze, or white. We do not invent a dealer relationship with a specific aluminum brand.

Iron and ornamental iron

Ornamental iron (and similar steel ornamental systems) reads heavier than aluminum. It suits formal frontages, some commercial entries, and lots that want a metal look that does not feel residential-light.

Iron needs a finish that can handle humidity. Rust at welds and ground contact is the long-term issue. Design details — spear tops, rings, custom gates — belong on the estimate, not as a surprise.

Choosing among metal options

Pick aluminum when you want low rust and an open view, especially around a pool. Pick ornamental iron when the look and mass matter more. Pick a security or welded steel system when the job is deterrence, not decoration. Those security systems are covered on the security fencing page.

Questions we hear on this work

Is aluminum better than iron around a pool?
Usually yes for maintenance. Aluminum handles splash and humidity with less rust. The layout, latch, and closer still have to meet the inspector. Material alone does not make a legal pool barrier.
Do you design ornamental iron fences?
We can plan a line, pickets, and gate layout from the lot and the look you want. We do not advertise in-house ornamental fabrication beyond what the owner has confirmed. Custom work is quoted from the site, not from a catalog promise.

Talk through the line

Call or send the lot details. We will tell you if the job is a repair, a replacement, or a different material than you started with.
